"Hear the Difference"
Whole House Distributed Home Audio
The foundation of a modern home's entertainment system is a multi source music system that offers
background level music of suficiently high quality to create a relaxing ambiance for work and leisure.
Such a system must be designed with the proper components, installed correctly, and most importantly
is user friendly.
The System Configuration typically includes the following:
Speakers:
A number of pairs of quality stereo speakers are placed in the rooms of the home where music will
enhance and support the living environment. These rooms include the family room, the kitchen/breakfast
area, the solarium, the study, the living room, the dining room, and the master bedroom & bath. Typical
optional speaker locations include the deck/patio area and the recreation room in the basement. The
typical vendors for music speakers are Russound and Sonance.
Volume controls:
Each room must have its own volume control. This permits the family members using that space to set
the music level to their liking or to turn the sound off completely without having any effect on the
music playing in other areas.
Multiple Sources:
Most systems that we design include three sources of music. These are typically FM broadcasts, Satellite
music channels (currently 30+ and commercial free) and a 100 disk CD changer. Each source is connected
to the system and can be controlled by a hand held remote control for ease of use. The typical
vendors for this equipment are Denon, Pioneer, RCA and Sony.
Source Control:
Each level of the house that is the bedroom level, the first floor and basement should have the ability
to control the system. This allows the listener to change the source of the music that is playing.
This is accomplished with the use of remote control repeaters installed in at least one room one each
level.
Options:
These include additional sources, multi-zone/multi-source control and the ability to answer the front
door from any telephone in the house.
